Minneapolis

Minneapolis was founded on July 10th 1847 but not incorporated until February 6th 1867.

The founding chart describes the nature of the city. According to Mark Penfield in his ‘Horoscopes of the USA and Canada’, it was settled largely by Protestants and Scandinavians and is a progressive and receptive city: befitting its Gemini Moon. It is full of beautiful parks and numerous lakes; reflected in the trine between Jupiter and Saturn and Neptune both in Pisces.

As would be expected, there are many links between the founding and incorporation charts. At the time of incorporation, Uranus had moved to conjoin the Jupiter position of the latter. Of rather more interest to us at present, is that the Pisces Moon in the chart for the incorporation was passing over the Saturn position of the founding chart: a degree that will be accentuated at the lunar eclipse on March 3rd 2026.

In 1867, Neptune moved from Pisces to Aries: an ingress that occurred again on January 26th 2026. Neptune’s Aries ingress in 1867 coincided with the battle of Fort Sumter – the start of the US civil war. Is a theme replaying?

A few weeks ago President Trump announced that he was considering using the Act of Insurrection to send in the National Guard. What is fascinating is that the Act was SIGNED on March 3rd 1807.

What is clear is that the Lunar Eclipse on March 3, 2026, affects all three charts. Will this bring an end to the tension in that beautiful city, or see it heightened? Lunar eclipses are not like solar eclipses. They do not repeat at set intervals. Indeed, the last lunar eclipse within a degree of 12 Virgo (as in March 2026) was in 1962 at the height of the Cold War.

Minneapolis was not  ‘in the news’ as it is today, – but then Pluto was not traveling through Aquarius (the Sun sign of the Incorporation chart). Though Pluto has yet to reach the solar position, it is clear that there is profound distress being felt in that city. We must hope that the lunar eclipse marks the start of a period of healing.
